SHUTTER SPEED (Part One)

I was away for 3 days for my cousin's wedding in Johor Bahru.

The traffic at the Causeway Checkpoint wasn't as bad as I thought. But the heat was too much to handle. Below is a wedding gift my mom bought and decorated for the bride. Box full of chocs!

We checked into our hotel at Skudai. My aunt's place was just a 10-minute drive from our hotel. We just didn't wanna bunk in with her in-laws at her place. Plus, it was too crowded, too messy and too chaotic for a family of 5 like us!

What got me snapping away was this sign at the hotel lobby. I think it's okay for not allowing guests to bring durians into their hotel rooms but mangosteens?

Our hotel room was magnificent! Just RM300 per night for an executive suite! I love the bathroom because it was so big, it was the size of your bedroom! Love it, love it and
LOVE IT!

The only thing that got me 'ugh' was the view from our hotel window. LOOK!

Next on our itinerary for the day! We drove off to the aunt's place at approximately 1630hrs to prepare for the solemnisation at the bride's house somewhere in Taman Suria, near the Larkin Market.

"It's tradition for us to present the wedding gifts according to the number the bride's side suggested. If it is 10, we have to give 10. More than that, not counted! HAH!"

At 1700hrs, the male guests started arriving for well-wishes & safety prayers for the groom before the solemnisation at 2130hrs.

We had Quran & prayer stuff, her fave fruits, Bonia handbag & shoes, chocolates, emas kahwin (dowry) of jewelry and money! The rest of the stuff, I just couldn't remember.

At 2100hrs, after lots of photo-taking sessions and preparations of bunga rampai (a small potpourri, something to give to the bride's side) we got on our ass to the bride's side!

We were all so chaotic that everybody's screaming at everybody to carry the gifts! I had the best, the handbag!
*laughs*

When we hopped into my dad's car, he realized something was not good.
"Tayar Pancit!" my dad exclaimed.

You know what it means, you fools!

Great! We were all freaking out because we wouldn't wanna be late!

One of my dad's tyre was
superpoked by an allen key... Darn! My dad swore someone was trying to be funny. My uncles helped out to change the tyre but it was too small. Hoho...

We arrived at the bride's side at 2140hrs. Just 10 minutes late but it got all the family members frantic! The house was gorgeous! I love the atmosphere. The decor was really romantic, lots of gold and lots of glam!

The solemnisation went very smoothly, very carefully. My cousin was a nerve-wreck, though! But he kept his cool most of the time by drying his palm with a hand towel.

Out comes the bride. The bride was cute.

Right at 2249hrs, we were raring to go back home. Rest for the day.
