Growing up in Singapore is like growing up in a jail cell.
Have you noticed how kids nowadays can be like? Is it nurtured or nature? Basically, I've noticed how the new generation of kids are brought up... Sad, but true... Guess it's the education system. Is it called education or preaching? It can get very contradicting. The parents want the kids to grow up as useful as possible, for their own good. But at the same time, the way they brought them up just clashed with the way they are taught in school.
In the Library.
Before (early 1990s - late 1990s)
The parents are the ones shutting up the kids when they make noise in the library.
Now (21st century)
The kids are the ones shutting up the parents when they make noise in the library.
Helping people when in need.
Before (1990s)
Parents are the one helping other people when stuff drops on the floor. If the kids helped out, they thanked their kids.
After (21st century)
Kids are the one helping other people when stuff drops on the floor. When they helped, parents scolded them and said: "Someone help already, why help!?"
Basically, these are the two most prominent evidences I can give you now. *Brain juice draining* So, next time when you have kids, please, teach the right stuff! The education system is so preaching kids at the wrong time, at the wrong place.
