COUSINS NIGHT OUT

It's been a while since we last saw each other. It's been such a long time. Meeting one another is like having to travel from one country to another every few months till we meet again.

Each time, it's never complete. No matter incomplete our pictures were, there is always that memories of childhood lives we had.

(Below) Last night's dinner feast at C2K. Two round tables, 20 persons, countless dishes. It was nice, but nicer with everyone present. Without any tinge of jealousy or whatever.

My cousin, Faizal and Lin, went out for a Movie Night tonight! Taking time off after work to catch up with these two lovelies is never a hassle.

Sometimes, I'm just so afraid if one day when the world's gonna end, I will have to split up with the people that I love the most. And if there is ever a restart in life or relive our lives again, I wish I could reunite with the people I love the most again.

GOODBYE HARI RAYA

When I was a lot younger, I used to enjoy Hari Raya very much because it was the only time I get to dress up prettily and wear heels. This time, I don't see much of a joy in Hari Raya anymore because I just don't have the time.

Yes, I can't make time for Hari Raya this year. It has been almost impossible. My family and I managed to celebrate Hari Raya on just the first 2 days of Aidilfitri and after that, no more...

What I envied the most about when I see others celebrating Hari Raya is the togetherness. Although I believed that nothing can compared to the spirit of friendship and closeness, something bugs me each time about the colours and atmosphere they brought to the air.

I know, it's silly! I get jealous.

My heart just sank. I miss those good times, laughing and running around in baju kurung and watching other races looking at us in envy and in delight at how pretty our traditional clothes are.

This year, I just don't feel like celebrating because:

1) My beloved grandmother passed away
2) I work during the weekdays
3) Yusri is in camp
4) No money...
5) Some of my relatives chose to distant themselves away from us

Above all, I wish everyone a very good Hari Raya Aidilfitri... Hearing the beautiful Raya songs playing on radio makes me feel sad...

I wish next year would be fabulous...

Too sad...

Cheers & Loves,

BACK FROM A SPLENDID WEEKEND

I've never had a really fine weekend for years and finally, last weekend break was totally relaxing and lovely! Don't be jealous now... :)

We spent the entire weekend staying up late, eating and cleaning up.

Saturday was a nice dinner gathering with the boys before they jet off to Tekong in June, July, September or October. Imagine, just imagine, when they return from their Basic Military Training? They will be hairless, tanned and obviously, can't stop talking about how life is like in National Service! I'll be the odd one out of course, but hey, who's stopping what! :)

Sunday was magnificent because we did most of the kitchen runs the whole day. It was Yusri's birthday/graduation/pre-NS enlistment luncheon! Okay, exaggeration. In Malay words, it's called Kenduri. In English words, it's called a well-wishes gathering. The best part is that my parents came too! Haha!

We stayed up till 11 pm to clean up the house. Yusri's mom will be at the hospital the whole day on Monday morning with a relative so she won't be around to clean up. But it's alright! We love cleaning up so we got it going straight at noon.

The awesome part is that we realized how real we are towards each other. And that's how we loved it.

Just to share with you guys. Here are 2 awesome links that you can be sharing in future.
Perhaps, motivation. Enjoy, love! :)

Barbie & Ken X Karl Lagerfeld @ Colette

This year marks Barbie's 50th anniversary! Hoorah!

This month, Barbie & Ken will be on display windows at France's Colette boutique from the 9th to 28th March 2009. Done by Mr Karl Lagerfeld.

The world's most famous stylish doll has turned into a real fashion icon!

Look at Karl Lagerfeld's collection above! I couldn't resist the awesome display of Barbie & Ken's collection. Beautiful.

Can I fly to France tomorrow? Anyone up to buy for me a pair of return tickets to France/Singapore? Accommodation, food and tour guide included, please.

Please. Please. Please.

I don't wanna be scrolling images after images on Colette's website.

You know, this could be a sign cos I saw this coming on Channel NewsAsia about Shanghai's 6-Storey Barbie store!

Read my lips. SIX FUCKING STOREYS OF BARBIE! I CAN DIE IN THERE!

SIXTEEN FEBRUARY

A time to remember those sweet 22 years of my life. The most memorable one was my 1st birthday celebration in Clementi. Yes, my first birthday! All those 22 years had been sweet and sour. I could still remember my little 10th birthday party; the funny thing was I remembered feeling embarrassed to have a Disney karaoke session with my friends! I still have those photos, by the way and I have to thank my parents for throwing a really splendid party for my friends. :)

My sweet sixteen party was actually prepared by my secondary school friends. My friend's mom baked an awesome cake for me with m&m's all over it. Thanks Hanisah & gang! Yes, to my parents & relatives for being there. Who can forget my late grandma?

Sixteen February. It has been a good ol' 22 years, huh? Thanks to all my friends - Primary to Polytechnic mates - for remembering this date for me. Like I said, 22 years! I lost track of my birthday... My 21st birthday was just a simple celebration with my family and Yusri at Banquet having a good seafood horfun! What's in store for my 22nd? I think it'll just be another quiet one... Simple celebration, for a simple girl like me.

As years go by, I would still want to embrace the great 1980-1990's. This is one of my favourite movies of all times. Back to the Future.

Looking back. I want to party like the 1950's! This is some good music to begin with.

Happy birthday Jannah! Cheers to more happy years to come. Forever Sweet Sixteen (doesn't matter legal or not, I still look fuckin' young for 22!)

BACK WHEN WE WERE YOUNG

We weren't playing with computer games, PSP or Nintendo DS Lite and whatever kids are doing today. We were playing on a more hands-on toys like...

Connect Four

Hungry Hungry Hippo

Remember more girlier toys like My Little Pony?

Polly Pocket? Yeah, it caters to boys too. Like the Mighty Max's edition?

What I missed most was this line:
"Each sold separately"

Back in those days, toys commercials were shown on TV 12 most of the time.

Beautiful nostalgia. I want to be a kid and cherish all the toys that I had in the past. Instead of dismantling it or vandalize it.

IN THE YEAR 2009

Darn resolution too small, but fuck it.

I'm big into Feng Shui and Chinese Horoscopes. This morning my mom read some on World of Feng Shui.com which was a little surprising for me that she actually believe in these kinda of things and that put an end to my questioning wonders about why we had Feng Shui guidebooks. Well well.

Just click to enlarge the image to read on.

I'm a rabbit and above is what The Year of the Ox brings for me. I'm on fire!
I mean, I'm a fire female rabbit, thus explains my fiesty side of me. Woah!

For that special someone in my life, here's your reading. Believe or not, it's up to you because somethings can be so misleading.

Like what I believe, sometimes what you read might be so accurate because that is what your intuitions tell you.
Other than just resolving conflicts, understanding emotionally with one another and sharing your goals/fears/shame with your loved ones, maybe there are other parts of avoidance.

Conclusion, I'm big on Feng Shui and Chinese Horoscope readings but I don't really trust it with all my gut!

TAKE THAT, LACHEY!

Perhaps the best UK band in the 1990s. Take That had Robbie Williams then but when they came back with Patience last year, their comeback was great!

Patience was the most warmest song I've ever heard in ages and Gary Barlow sounded so earnest! They hit us back with Rule The World for Stardust soundtrack and that blew me away.

Just the other day, when I turned on the radio, I heard Patience. I swooned to the song, but...
"THIS ISN'T GARY BARLOW! THIS IS NOT GARY BARLOW! THIS IS NOT TAKE THAT?! WHO THE FUCK?!"

I knew from the voice, it was Nick Lachey, doing his shit again with covers and trying to swoon to the world to be a little patient. The difference between Nick's and Take That's versions is:

Patience - Take That

Nick Lachey's Cover of Patience

I'm sticking to my Take That!

Rule The Word - Take That

I hope that they'll be back for good.

Back for Good - Take That

A REUNION, SOMEDAY WE'LL KNOW

Shoosh. Me and my big fat idea to upload this photo on Facebook! Now, all my former classmates are super hopeful for a gathering one day. Hey, it was supposed to be a random laugh-out-loud moment, not an idea to a reunion.

But, I think it's brilliant and I wouldn't mind organizing a class reunion someday. I'm known for spouting nonsense out of my mouth to a point my classmates thought it was a splendid idea and I ended up organizing events for them.

So, I won't disappoint them. I miss organizing events and should it fail or succeed, a gathering is still a gathering. After Ming Khang commented that on my Facebook, I had an awesome idea for a theme gathering.

Why, let's wait and see...

Will Jannah succeed in the first step - Getting hold of all her Secondary school peers to confirm a fixed day/date/time/place?

Find out on her next entry (if I remember)
